ABOUT US - 6th Annual Hell in the Harbour

Hell in the Harbour takes place across a 6km course spanning Hamilton’s beautiful waterfront and features 15+ obstacles. Obstacles are designed with multiple fitness levels in mind and will challenge participants’ physical strength and mental toughness all while having fun for a great cause!

Hell in the Harbour will offer a ‘competitive’ category to satisfy those with a competitive edge and who want to see how their time stacks up against the rest and a ‘just for fun’ category for participants who want to take on each obstacle at their own pace and see what Hell in the Harbour is all about! Hell in the Harbour is a family friendly event that is open to spectators and supporters! Whether you plan on tackling the obstacles first-hand, cheering on participants as a spectator or showing your support as a volunteer, Hell in the Harbour will be an exciting event for everyone! Admission for spectators and guests to the event is FREE, so come cheer on your bravest participant!

Win great prizes by fundraising!

When each participant successfully meets the $60 fundraising component for Hell in the Harbour they will automatically be entered into a chance to win a grand prize (to be announced)! For every additional $25 raised above and beyond the initial $60 raised, you will receive ANOTHER BALLOT for a chance to win. So THE MORE YOU RAISE THE BETTER CHANCE YOU HAVE TO WIN!!

*Fundraising is required by all participants. A minimum of $60 fundraising must be completed to participate. 100% goes directly to the Special Olympics. Donations over $20 will generate a tax receipt.

HOW LONG IS THE RUN?

Hell in the Harbour is just over 6km and features 15+ obstacles

I’VE NEVER PARTICIPATED IN AN OBSTACLE COURSE, WILL I BE ABLE TO COMPLETE THE RUN?

YES!! Hell in the Harbour is designed with all fitness levels in mind. The competitive division is geared towards experienced runners who know what they are in for and the Just for Fun category is for runners who want to tackle each obstacle at their own pace and have fun along the way! Participants in the Just for Fun category can also skip an obstacle if they do not feel comfortable completing it!

WHEN WILL I KNOW WHAT TIME I RUN AT?

Race times will begin to be posted 2 to 4 days prior to the event date

CAN I SIGN UP ON EVENT DAY?

Yes you can as long as you pay the registration fee ($40) and minimum fundraising fee ($60)

HOW OLD DO YOU HAVE TO BE TO RUN?

13 years and older (parent/guardian consent required under 16 years old)

IT’S RAINING/SNOWING/COLD/90% CHANCE OF….?

Hell in the harbour takes place rain or shine, cold or hot, windy or calm! This event is designed to be messy so we embrace any weather that is thrown at us! In the event of extreme weather conditions (Tornado, Earthquakes, Volcanic Eruptions or Lightning, the starting times will be pushed back as long as possible on the day of the event. IN THE EXTREMELY RARE circumstance that extreme weather prevents participants from getting dirty on the course, the event would be cancelled for your safety. A reminder that registration fees are non-refundable and all donations go directly to Special Olymipcs Ontario.
